What the assessment measures
Vocabulary
Your usable word range and your ability to select precise language.
Learn words in short phrases from material at your level, then retrieve each phrase in a new sentence.

Your control of sentence patterns, tense, agreement, and relationships between ideas.
Use one target pattern at a time: notice it, complete five controlled examples, then write or say three original examples.
Reading
Your ability to locate facts, follow connections, and infer meaning from context.
Read one short level-matched text daily: predict, skim for the main idea, scan for evidence, then summarize without looking.
